WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

COMMON IDAHO RESIDENT QUESTIONS:
-
When will housing be affordable?
-
Why is affordable housing so far away from society?
-
How do I get to work when my commute is terrible?
-
Why are the services I need not centrally located?
-
Why is development not respecting nature?

OUR SOLUTION:
A H.I.V.E. CO-OP CAMPUS
What makes our Campus unique? What does it do for Idahoans?

NATURED CITY
How WE BUILD our campus so it integrates with the raw land
H.I.V.E.
Habitat- Addressing the Needs to Survive
Innovation- Designs that Respect all forms of Nature
Vocation- Variety of types to learn, work & live
Exploration- Challenging the mind to Think & Act Efficiently
HABITAT
ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY
Like a Beehive, our campus will be built with taller multistory buildings to help make use of the land. If we build up, we can then include more offices for the various business & residential groups we want to attract & house.

INNOVATION
HOUSING
Unlike other affordable housing units found in the Valley, the HIVE campus will build unique dorm-like facilities to improve the services & activities for the modern applicant.
While different from Student or Work housing, these units will be classified by the folks we have to rent.
VOCATION
Any Tax Exempt Nonprofit Organizations which are in need of a different facility to operate because of relocation or expansion due to expensive leasing costs.
Cross-County (Ada, Canyon, Gem) Hub Includes access to these Departments:
● DMV
● Dept. of Labor
● Housing Authority
● Parks & Rec.
● SBA
● Voc. Rehab
● Dept. of H&W
● IRS

EXPLORATION
We will include a Park with a trail on the campus.
If you have heard of Pokemon Go, we will take the park to the next level and use augmented reality to create multiple interactive exhibits that connect to museums around the world. So if you could not afford to visit these museums you can at least explore their exhibits from this park.
One of the other features of the park is a dedication to feature multiple memorials & statues.

STAR-BASE FEATURES
We know that Section 8 programs are there to help participants receive services. So we came up with a concept that would eliminate restrictions that both participants, those on the waitlist, and the public could use.
We call our concept Main facility the X-Base. The name of course is not final, as we prefer calling it Star-Base (on the legend) mainly for the 6 point design. However due to issues with Disney Star Wars that name is in limbo.
INSPIRATION
Inspired by the challenges faced by the X-Men in the Marvel universe, we call it the X-Base, because everyone has certain problems or situations they need to get something or work with someone to help them. While people who need help are not mutants, they have a X-Factor that prevents them from moving forward.
WHAT IS THE X-BASE?
If you need a particular service or are from a particular background, each wing of the X-Base will be built to form a S.A.F.E. environment for you to live, receive services, and get efficient assistance should you not live at on site.
What does S.A.F.E. stand for?
Sensitivity- You have high or low responses to Sights, sounds, people,
situations, etc.
Activity- You need access to certain services or activities.
Fortress- You need protection or a sense of safety to help you receive services
Effectiveness- You need devices, services, or better access to otherwise unaffordable equipment to help you live comfortably.
SAFE Ideas that could be implemented by the Task Force for these Units are:
To address PTSD, Autism, OCD, ADHD, etc.
Music Proof Sound insulation
Service Animal friendly materials
Campus Based Communication devices for nonverbal individuals Visual Guides
Modular furniture & appliances to help with organization
